THE POLLOK MUSEUM (GLASGOW)
If you're a fan of the Yank dripper: Jackson Pollock - why not visit the Pollock museum, in Wisconsin?
If you're a fan of Scots singer: Lulu(pic) - why not visit The Pollok museum in Pollok ?
(Don't confuse the two, cos they're not the same).
Pollok museum in Pollok, seems to be almost entirely devoted to the time just before local girl: Lulu, hit the big time. The displays feature some old programmes for gigs in places like church-dance-halls - In Pollok - with a few ticket stubs and other artefacts thrown in...and a hell of a lot of photos of Lulu...........
....but then you think "Hang on she's not local - Isn't she from the East-End? Lulu?
Yeah...she is. But her backing band, were from Pollok and that's good enough(it seems) for the exhibits manager at Pollok Museum -- Local celebs: two accordionists, a drummer and Lulu.
Certainly worth a visit, if you're visiting the Health Centre(Pollok), which is in the same Community building, as the museum - very nice.
They also have a Bistro in there, that seems mainly to do the traditional Glasgow fried sausage/onion combo, in a bun, that isn't really a bun, more just a random lump of dough, dark brown exterior, no real interior (or butter)...but I shouldn't scoff (and I didn't) - I bypassed The Bistro and sat myself down in the waiting room, with the rest of the halt and lame and decrepit.
... And you just sit there - inhaling away - in the sausage/onion reeking, fugged up, Doctor's waiting room...
It's great :) ...no-one seemed bothered - So neither was I.
Economy sausages they were, budget stretchers - I could tell - fried in Lard...right beside the Health Centre waiting room entrance.
So, why not get yourself down and check it out? - You won't be disappointed.
I can't comment on the Jackson Pollock museum in Wisconsin.
(I expect it's shit).
